Lemon and ginger tea

A soothing tea that combines the sharpness of fresh ginger with the freshness of lemon - perfect for cold days or to boost the immune system.

Ingredients (for 2 cups):

  • 500 ml water
  • 2-3 cm fresh ginger, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 lemon, cut into slices
  • 2 tsp honey (optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves to garnish (optional)

Preparation:

Boil the water

Bring the water to the boil in a small saucepan or kettle.

Leave the ginger to infuse

Place the ginger slices in a teapot or directly into the cups. Pour hot water over and leave to infuse for 5-7 minutes, depending on the desired spiciness.

Add the lemon

Place the lemon slices in the cups.

Sweeten (optional)

Sweeten with honey to taste and stir well.

Serve

Enjoy the tea hot and garnish with fresh mint leaves, if desired.

Tip

For an extra refreshing touch, you can add a squeeze of lime juice or refine the tea with a pinch of turmeric.
