Ingredients (for 1 cup):
- 1 tsp matcha powder
- 200 ml milk (or plant-based alternative, e.g. almond milk)
- 1 piece of fresh ginger (approx. 2 cm), peeled and sliced
- 100 ml water
- 1 tsp honey or maple syrup (to taste)
An invigorating drink that combines the spiciness of ginger with the energy of matcha - perfect for warming yourself from the inside
Heat the water in a small pan and simmer the ginger slices for about 5 minutes. Then strain and set the ginger tea aside.
Pour the matcha powder into a bowl and pour 2-3 tablespoons of hot water (approx. 80 °C) over it. Stir with a matcha whisk or a small whisk until frothy and there are no more lumps
.Heat the milk in a pan (do not boil) and optionally whisk with a milk frother until frothy.
Pour the ginger tea and the blended matcha mixture into a cup. Add the warm milk and stir well.
Sweeten with honey or maple syrup to taste. Garnish with a pinch of matcha powder or a thin slice of ginger.
For a particularly creamy consistency, you can refine the milk with a teaspoon of coconut oil.
Good appetite and enjoy! 😊
