Guacamole with tortilla chips

Fresh, creamy and irresistible - this classic guacamole with ripe avocados and crispy tortilla chips is always a hit.



Ingredients (for 4 portions):

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1 lime (juice)
  • 1 small tomato, finely diced
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove of garlic, finely chopped
  • 1-2 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp salt (to taste)
  • 1 pinch of chilli flakes (optional)
  • Tortilla chips to serve

Preparation:

Preparing the avocados

Cut the avocados in half, remove the stone and scrape out the flesh with a spoon. Place in a bowl

Mash them

Mash the avocados with a fork or potato masher to a creamy, slightly chunky consistency.

Add the ingredients

Stir the lime juice, diced tomato, chopped onion, garlic and coriander (if desired) into the avocado mixture. Season to taste with salt and chilli flakes.

Taste to taste

Add more lime juice, salt or chilli flakes to taste.

Serve

Place the guacamole in a bowl and serve with the tortilla chips. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and a squeeze of lime juice if desired.


Tip

For a particularly fresh guacamole, prepare just before serving and cover with cling film directly on the surface to prevent it from browning.
